She spent most of her life in Bonner Springs and Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1965 and Faith Baptist Bible College, Ankeny, Iowa in 1972.
Dee was a dispatcher in the trucking industry for many years which allowed her to interact with many people. In life, Dee knew no stranger and would talk to anyone. Dee had a joyful personality and a silly side as she was always trying to get people to smile and laugh.
Dee enjoyed reading and watching movies. She and Larry made many trips over their 40 years of marriage, from coast-to-coast, Alaska and Hawaii. Dee’s favorite time of year was Christmas. She became more excited than many children do. Dee’s ultimate joy was the last 21 years being a grandmother to Abby and Sarah. They brought so much joy to her.
Dee was preceded in death by both her parents and sister, Alice Feutz. She is survived by her husband, Larry Putman, Lenexa, Kansas; stepdaughter Kim and her husband Darrell Stein, Prairie Village, Kansas; 2 granddaughters Abby and Sarah; 2 sisters, Margaret Thompson, Rosharon, Texas; and Leslie Johanson, Seattle, Washington.
Visitation will be held on February 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131.
A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location on February 6, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
