I was born November 26, 1929 in Kansas City. At my funeral, should I still be here, I pray the Lord will come first. It will be held at Mt. Moriah Funeral Home at 10507 Holmes Road in Kansas City, MO.
I don't want anything fancy, I don't want any new clothes, I have plenty in my closet to be buried in.
I would prefer donations etc. to First Assembly of God, Independence, instead of flowers.
I have worked many jobs in my lifetime. First, Sears Roebuck & Co. at 15th and Cleveland, then The Jones Store, J.C. Penny's and Macy's. The last job was USC Insurance out of Boca Raton, Florida. The office here was at 51st and Oak, now called USE. I retired in '89 because they moved to Florida. I have also done lots of childcare and loved every minute.
I was an S.S. Secretary for 32 years at Paseo Assembly of God of Kansas City and for 17 years at Central Assembly of God. I have always worked where I was needed. And every class had their own record book which I compiled to get a grand total each Sunday.
I have always loved and cared for others, especially the physically handicapped (of which my son was one) and the lonely and elderly.
I was preceded in death by my wonderful husband, William, my son David, both parents, one brother and three sisters.
I attended Yeager Grade School and graduated from East High School in 1947.
I have been a member of First Assembly of God since 1989. I loved to be in the House of God every chance I got.
There were eight of us children: Dorel, Mary Ruth, Betty, Della, Larry, Shirley, Richard and Beverly Ann. Also, many nieces and nephews as well as Chip Nichols and wife Ann of Florida who was as close as a son.
