Don or as many come to call him Donnie was born the 3rd of March 1962 in Kansas City.
Don was married to Jane Barnes since 1991, been employed with Kansas City Southern Railway since 1980 working his way up to KCSR Facilities Manager. He had also been Boy Scouts as a youth earning his Eagle Scout in 1978 and earning Warrior and Fire builder in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Later he returned to Scouts as an adult leader for both his sons and aiding in advancements of several Scouts to the rank Eagle as well. While serving time as adult leader he served in several roles, most notably as Scout Master and helping the district on the trails committee at one point and aiding in restoration of several trails signs. He was passionate about sports, mostly baseball and soccer, and helped coach for several years in baseball, softball and soccer, even after he couldn’t coach his own children. He loved reading books and in later years enjoyed playing against people in song trivia games.
Don is preceded by his parents Donald Ray McBeth Sr and Florene McBeth.
Don is survived by his wife Jane Barnes, his two sisters Pamela Carpenter and Margo McBeth, his children Bryan McBeth, Patrick McBeth, Kelsey Stolte, and six grandchildren.
The family has asked that the everyone help celebrate Donnie’s life by coming in casual cloths or in his favorite attire which is a Hawaiian shirt (please wear jeans or slacks though).
In lieu of floral arrangements the family asks friends to consider donating to our local Scouting organization at Heart of America Council by mailing a check at 10210 Holmes Rd, KCMO 64131 or there will be a collection basket at the services.
