

He was born on January 20, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he lived most of his life.
Don graduated from Southeast High School and following graduation, worked on the oil rigs in North Dakota before joining the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.
After his military service, Don spent over 25 years with Koch Refrigerators/Hobart, Inc., where he worked as a Purchasing Manager. Upon retiring from Hobart, he started a remodeling and home building business with his brother, combining his strong work ethic and craftsmanship.
In 1955, Don married the love of his life, Donna (Houser) White, and together they raised three children. Don was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first. After retirement, he loved spending time at the family’s lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he especially enjoyed fishing.
A longtime member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Don served faithfully on the Vestry, as Warden, and as a member of the Gardening Angels, contributing his time and talents to the church community he cherished.
Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna; their daughter, Lynn White; grandson, Collin White; and brother, Vic White. He is survived by his sons, Chris (Carol) White of Colorado Springs, CO, and Brent (Paula) White of Lee’s Summit, MO; his sister, Shirley Closser of Tennessee; granddaughters, Meagan White of Colorado Springs, CO, Amanda (Brendan) Farraher of Oak Ridge, TN, and Hunter White of Prairie Village, KS; great-grandchildren, Riley and Sean Farraher; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
Don will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 1433 NW RD Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO 64015. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Eucharist service at 12:00 p.m. Services will conclude at Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
