Donna Gayle Whitney Hetherington

Donna Gayle (Whitney) Hetherington, 63, passed away July 4, 2014. A memorial visitation will be held July 11th from 4:00-8:00PM at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64111. A private inurnment will be held at Forrest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MO-KAN Cat Club,

Donna was born August 8, 1950 to Warren and Marilyn (Wiggins) Whitney in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Ruskin High School. Donna earned her nursing degree at St. Luke’s School of Nursing and continued her education at KU Medical Center where she earned her Nurse Anesthetist degree. Following 37 years of service, she retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a Nurse Anesthetist. Donna was a member of CFA for many years as well as a member of MO-KAN Cat Club.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Marilyn Whitney; granddaughter, Whitney Anderson; and great-grandson, Braydn Westover. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Ron (Lynda) Hetherington of Kingsville, MO; daughter, Elizabeth (Tim) Anderson of South Elgin, IL; brothers, Douglas Whitney of KCMO, David (Kim) Whitney of St. Charles, MO, and Donald (Cynthia) Whitney of Belton, MO; grandchildren, Jaime Westover, Micheal Allen and Riki Allen; great-grandchildren, K’Lea Westover and Blake Westover; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews.
