

It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Joan Cook Critchlow announces her passing on Friday, April 13, at the age of 82. Donna will be remembered as a lively spirit who knew no stranger. She is lovingly remembered by her children Lisa Cuff (Dan), James Robert Cook, Jr. (Jamie), Lauren Ross (Dennis) and Marybeth Roberts, as well as stepchildren Melissa McDowell, Melinda Carter (Barry Tice) and Kim Griffin (Jim). Donna will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Katherine Christensen (Eric), Emilie Wells (Eric), Cory Kolenda, Dani McVety (Chris), Kylie Snow (Peter), Christopher Kolenda, Crystal Lacy, Colby Griffin (Rebekah), Beth Carter, Michael Lacy, Allison Lacy, Cody Carter, Evan Ross, Hannah Ross, Caitlin Cook, Addison Roberts, Drew Roberts and Michael McDowell. Donna was blessed with 13 great grandchildren and many, many friends of all ages. Donna was preceded in death by her first husband James R. Cook, Sr. of 40 years and her second husband Ray Critchlow of 13 years. She was also preceded in death by sons-in law James Shannon and Andrew Roberts. A Funeral Service honoring Donna will be held on Monday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity's Old Stone Chapel (9130 Pflumm Road, Lenexa, KS) with Father Clayton officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery (10507 Holmes Road). Family will receive visitors Sunday evening, April 15 at Mt. Moriah from 6 - 8 p.m. We would like to thank the staff at Centerpoint Medical Center for the excellent care and compassion shown to Donna and her family. Donna was born and raised in Kansas City, a graduate of Northeast High School. She was a loving wife and mother, and also a dedicated volunteer at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, St. Joseph Medical Center and the John Knox Village Care Center, as she was making JKV her new home. Bridge was a favorite hobby, second only to cooking and baking for family and friends.
