Dorothy attended St. Elizabeth Catholic Grade School, graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1946 and went on to earn her B.S. in Nursing from the College of St. Teresa (now Avila University). She primarily used her skills in the OR at St. Joseph Hospital and assisted in some of the first open heart surgeries performed in Kansas City.
Dorothy was an active and selfless member of St Elizabeth Parish and her devotion to God and Church was unwavering. She volunteered as the school's nurse, was a statistician for athletic events, and generally gave her time willingly when called upon. In 2013, St. Elizabeth's inducted Dorothy into its Hall of Fame.
She loved us all and gave her all.
