

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Arnold passed away June 21, 2015 and was born to John and Helen O’Connor on April 1, 1921, in Kansas City, MO. She attended Redemptorist High School in Kansas City and graduated from Our Lady of Angels Academy in Clinton, IA.
Betty married Ralph Plunkett in 1940. She leaves two children: Lawrence Plunkett and Linda (Mike) Ratcliff. Betty also leaves her devoted husband of 35 years, Charles Arnold, and six stepchildren: Emily (Piper) Wrigley, Timothy (Leslie) Arnold, Kevin (Nancy) Arnold, John (Becky) Arnold, Patrick (Linda) Arnold and Phillip (Keva) Arnold. She also leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many lifelong friends who will dearly miss her.
Betty worked at Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell for 27-plus years. She was a very special member of “The Lunch Bunch.” She lived life to the fullest and had many talents and accomplishments. Betty loved music, dancing, sewing, quilting, crafting, writing poetry and published her autobiography.
Betty will be always remembered, among other things, for her love of butterflies. Soar, butterfly lady!
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis, Belton, MO. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Brookdale Hospice, 501 W. 107th St., Kansas City, MO 64114.
