Elizabeth E. Butler, 90 years old, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend died March 24, 2017 at home in Overland Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William L. Butler III, and her sister Barbara Moore. She is survived by her three children, William (Virginia), Richard (Leslie) and Barbara (Gordon), her five grandchildren and step grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two nephews.
Liz was born in Kansas City and graduated from Paseo High School and the University of Kansas where she was a Delta Gamma and a Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. She met Bill, the love of her life, at KU and they were married in 1949. She worked in the real estate industry for 20 + years.
She was an avid gardener and was known for her love of dogs and her elegance. Liz will be sorely missed by her family and friends, but we are left with the legacy of her love and the lessons she taught us.
Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Great Plains SPCA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
