To the Douthit Family, 

A late note from an old friend of Evan.  I went to ROTC Summer Camp and bunked with Evan who later took me home with him to visit family. It was a wonderful break from Fort Riley.  I remember going to see the movie Jaws with Evan and his sister Carrey.  I retired after 38 years and just  wanted to reconnect if at all possible and discovered that a great Patriot and friend has passed.  I am so sorry that Evan passed away so young.  My deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

I'm so sorry.  I have lots of good Hefner Jr. High and Putnam City memories of Evan.  He will be missed.

Evan was a great neighbor; he was always in an upbeat mood and made conversations easy and enjoyable. He helped teach me how to properly groom horses and I am grateful for that. He will be missed by his loving family, friends, dogs, and horses.

I will miss you Evan.  I always enjoy talking to you and your family at the Dallas Safari Club show.

I have many fond memories at Pi Kappa Alpha with Evan.

Evan was a good friend through my high school and college days. we went hunting together many times going wherever we could find an open field out in the country.  he was a great mentor during college and was well thought of by all of the guys in the Pike house.  it is sad to see that he is no longer with us, he lived such a short life and it is hard to believe that he is no longer with us.  may he rest in peace, he was a good friend and I will always remember the great times that we had together.

I did not know Evan very well but consider him a good friend. I enjoyed his company while hunting the Y.O. Ranch. He will be greatly missed.

Evan was my neighbor, and I am so glad that I got to know him.  I admired his professionalism/service to country, dedication to his family and his warrior spirit in this battle. Whenever you saw Evan, he was smiling.  He will be missed.

EVAN AND I HANDGUN HUNTED TOGETHER FOR MANY YEARS AT THE ANNUAL YO RANCH HANDGUNNERS HUNT. GREAT GUY, ALWAYS THE FIGHTER, NEVER GIVING UP. HIS EMAILS TO ME GAVE ME HOPE FOR HIS RECOVERY, WHEN THERE PROBABLY WAS NO HOPE. I FEEL A DEEP PERSONAL LOSS WITH HIS EARLY PASSING. I WISH I HAD WORDS TO HELP WITH THE GRIEF HIS FAMILY IS DEALING WITH, BUT CAN ONLY SAY THAT THEIR GRIEF IS SHARED WITH MANY, SUCH AS MYSELF, WHO CONSIDERED EVAN A FRIEND. I was a Pike with Evan at OU.  Although I haven't seen Evan since I left Norman I remember him vividly.  He was smart, funny and articulate with a quick wit.  I am so sorry to learn of his passing.
