Evelyn Irene (Taylor) Bellamy, 90, Raytown, MO, passed peacefully to Heaven’s Gates on Monday, January 24, 2022, surrounded by her immediate family and life long friend.
She was born on November 13, 1931, in Barnett, MO. She is the daughter of Thomas Elisha Taylor & Gladys L. Kelsay Taylor and the sister of Thomas Taylor, Erma Raines, Herb Taylor, Sue Enloe, Myron Taylor, Elizabeth Edwards, Arlene Jones, and Darlene Stover. Evelyn was the proud mother of Nancy Carol Bellamy & Melody Suzanne (Tomas) Taylor. When Evelyn’s eldest daughter, Nancy, passed away at 21, she later wrote to the paper that she “had good friends who helped me and a large family. Their help and prayers carried me through, and still do.” This is a true testament to her trust in her loved ones and her faith, even in her most trying times.
Evelyn’s exceptional skills as a mother directly translated into her becoming a wonderful grandmother. She was deeply treasured by her three grandchildren, Mindy Marie Gray, Jenifer Carol Boyer, and Jesse Taylor (Leah) Gray. She has four great-grandchildren that loved her just as well, Samantha Marie Petraile, Ayden Jeffrey Boyer, Addyson Irene Boyer, Grayson David Boyer, and one expected great grandchild, Jameson Tomas Gray, whom we know she would have adored.
It is often said that as long as we are here on Earth, we are strangers to the land. This world is not our home, rather, our true citizenship is in heaven. The moment we take our last breath on earth, we take our first beside the Lord in Heaven. Evelyn’s family finds peace in knowing that she has been reunited with her parents, siblings and eldest daughter, and they look forward to seeing her at the feet of our Heavenly Father.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas Elisha Taylor & Gladys L. Kelsey Taylor, her siblings: Thomas Taylor, Erma Raines, Herb Taylor, Sue Enloe, Myron Taylor, Elizabeth Edwards, and Darlene Stover, her daughter, Nancy Carol Bellamy and son-in-law Jeffrey James Gray.
