
Franz Christoph, 79, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away April 12, 2013. A visitation will be held 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131 with a memorial service to follow. Inurnment in Mount Moriah Cemetery at a later date. Franz was born and raised in Berlin, Germany. In the early 1950’s, he immigrated to Montreal, Canada in order to make a better life for himself. On a Visa to the United States, he joined the United States Air Force and was given citizenship. Over 20 years later he retired as a SMSgt in Kansas City, Missouri. Small in stature, but large in personality he will be greatly missed by many. Franz is known for his wit and wisdom. He has impacted people’s lives more than he could imagine by his generosity and love for others. So often in the course of daily life a former client from the credit union at which he was a loan officer would come up to him and show gratitude for how he had changed their lives when few were willing to help. Franz will be remembered for his laughter, kindness, stoicism and immeasurable strength of will. Franz was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew in Germany. Also surviving are his great love and wife Carole Christoph, daughter Debra Karabin, son Mark Christoph,four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Franz B. Christoph, marched to the beat of his own drummer, lived his life to the fullest and continues as an inspiration to those of us left behind.
