

George Sidney Auld, 77, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at Sweet Life at Grand Court. Memorial visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9th, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. George was born February 2, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri, son of Anna Bell (Kindred) and Dr. Mark Hamilton Auld. He attended Pembroke Country Day School and graduated from Southwest High School. He also attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and attended the University of Kansas City. George received his real estate license in Missouri and Kansas in 1956. He worked as a sales associate and later obtained his Broker’s license. He was associated with Kroh Brothers Realty, Earnshaw Realtors and JD Reece Realtors. For several years he also owned and operated George Auld Realty. His sales success was from his honesty and professional manner. His favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Mark Auld, Jr. George is survived by his good friend and companion Carol Ann Knott; children Bruce Frederick and Blair Hayes; sister Ann Nearing and husband Howard and Nancy Parker and husband Steve; brother John William Auld; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and was greatly loved by many friends.
