George Miller Ford Jr.

Born September 4, 1939, George was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. His father nicknamed him Skeeter and it stuck with the Ford and Hamby family. His family was the center of who he was and they always came first in his life. He coached his son’s football and baseball teams when he was growing up.

George had many talents. He was a wonderful artist and was always sketching. Many may not know that he had earned a scholarship to The Kansas City Art Institute. Pen and paper were not his only artistic endeavors. He had a passion for music and played a variety of instruments - guitar, bass, piano, trumpet, drums, etc. If it made music he would give it a try and was also in a band called Larry & the Crossfires. He loved to dance with his lovely wife, Deanna.

George also loved to travel and was the light at many a social occasion. He could start up a conversation with anyone and has many life-long friends that he made during his adventures.

George’s parents George Miller Ford and Helen Leontine Ford preceded him in death. Has one sibling surviving, William (Bill) Harden Ford.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Deanna Elaine Ford; son, Bryan Scott Ford; daughter in law, Lavinia Ann Ford; grandson, Duncan Scott Ford; granddaughter, Caitlyn Marie Warren; grandson in-law, Ryan Joseph Warren; great grandson, Wyatt Anthony Warren; and great granddaughter, Izzie Mae Warren. Brother in law Robert (Bob) Allen, wife Linda Allen and brother in law David Perkins, wife Fredia Perkins are best friends as well as family.

A visitation for George will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133.
