

Geraldine Shoaf, 91, passed away on April 3, 2016 at her home. Visitation will be Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10am, Saturday, April 9, 2016 also at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, she requested contributions to be made to Mid America Chapter of ALS, 6950 Squibb Rd, Suite 210, Mission, KS 66202 in memory of her son, David Allen Shoaf, who died of ALS. She was born October 25, 1924, to Wiley B. and Louise Hovermale in Kansas City, MO. She attended Clay Elementary School and graduated from Northeast High School in 1942. She was married to John Shoaf on May 24, 1946. Geri and her husband owned and operated Midwest Duplicators, Inc., for many years. She also did secretarial work in various Baptist churches including First Baptist, Independence, MO, where she was a member. She loved children and worked in the church nursery. She was active in PTA and was PTA President for two years at Truman High School, where all four of her children attended. She was talented with various crafts, sewing matching outfits for her young children and later her grandchildren. Geri designed and created stained glass windows and loved drawing and painting. Geri is survived by three children, Ronald Shoaf, Doug Shoaf (Teresa), daughter-in-law, Sally Shoaf and Debi Schulenberg (Ed); ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
