

Harold was born in Higginsville, Missouri to Paul Louis Czar and Mabel Irene Getz Czar. Harold and his family moved to Kansas City in 1945 and he is a 1956 graduate of Northeast high school.
Harold attended Kansas City Business College and entered the workforce as a draftsman at the age of 19, working for the Missouri highway department. He spent the bulk of his career in heavy construction management, retiring from Overland Park-based, Black and Veatch in 2004. Although he worked throughout the United States and internationally, he always regarded the time he and his wife Audrey spent working in Australia as a “chance of a lifetime!”
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald Charles Czar, his stepson Grant Hackley, his stepdaughter Rena Hackley-Long, his grandson Jordan Leake, his grandson Noah Leake.
Harold is survived by his wife Audrey Jennings Czar, His sons Lamont “Butch” Czar and daughter-in-law Patricia, Christopher Czar and daughter-in-law Staci, his daughter Michelle Leake and son-in-law Anthony, his sisters Marjorie Gieseke of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Barbara Reed of Longmont, Colorado. He’s also survived by his grandchildren Paul, Mary (McGovern) , Patrick, Sarah, Emily, Daniel, and Anthony Czar, Abbie and Emma Czar, Christian, Micah, Rachel, Grace, Lydia, Gideon, Joel, Ruth, Nathanael, Abel, Rebekah and Emmaus Leake.
Harold was also honored to be known as a step grandfather and a great grandfather of "13". He was a gifted wood worker and master builder and worked with his hands all the days of his life.
