Mrs. Helen Marie (Williams) Arrington was born on December 14, 1931 to the union of Leonard and Beaulah (Jones) Williams of New Madrid, Missouri. Her parents, Leonard and Beaulah; brother, Leonard, Jr.; sister, Mildred; and son, Kevin, preceded her in death.
The best years of Helen's life began when she committed herself to the Lord on the banks of the Mississippi River at the young age of 12. At the age of 14, her eager spirit was recognized by Pastor G.L. Gladney, and he sponsored her to attend Western Baptist Seminary as a student in Kansas City, Missouri. There she met and married Amos Arrington. To this union four children were born, Dennis Louis, Carey Lenoid, Maria Renee, and Kevin Andre. Her children blessed her with 10 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.
Helen entered the work force after her children entered school. She was employed by the Missouri Division of Employment and achieved many levels of stature during her employment. Spending her entire life building bridges and comfort zones for others, Helen encouraged everyone to rise from unrest or pain to levels of peace and joy. Helen was affiliated with many organizations: American Cub Scout Den Mother for Pack #105, Prince Hall Family (Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine), lifetime member of Celestial Chapter #102, a lifetime member of Harmony Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star-state of Missouri, a Daughter of Isis for Allah Court #6 where she served as an Imperial Deputy of the Isiserettes for the Desert of Missouri.
Helen leaves to carry on her legacy of peace, love, and happiness to her husband, Amos; children, Dennis (Nekita), Carey (Sharon), and Maria; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Dawson, Eva Williams, and Ella Sue Pope; daughter-in-law, Angela Arrington; sister-in-law, Margaret Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
