Hilbert A. Youngberg "Gus" of Kansas City, MO passed away on November 24th, 2020. He was born on March 16th, 1928. Hilbert joined the U.S. Navy and later the Naval Reserves. He was discharged in 1955. Then joined the family business, "Kansas City Welding and Machine Works." He married Shirley Maloney and had 3 children, Victoria, Michael and Corey. He later remarried Judith French and a son named Keith. Hilbert was a happy-go-lucky man. Who went out of his way to be friendly, to anyone and welcomed all to his home. He was a loyal and loving man to all his family and friends. And would literally drop anything to help, if he could. Being a kid at heart, he had tons of energy to spare. Which was a very much-needed trait when spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved very much. Hilbert was quite the foodie. His favorite foods were; waffles, tamales, eggs in a frame, hamburgers, fried potatoes and beans.
Some of his favorite hobbies were tinkering with automobiles, lawnmowers and any sort of home repairs. He took great pleasure in traveling and experiencing new things. And was very keen on sharing such adventures with family. Around Christmas time, Hilbert was frequently asked "What do you want for Christmas?" and he simply responded with "I just want everyone to be happy!" Hilbert is survived by his 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
