Howard Donald Sly, born December 21, 1936, passed away June 24, 2016, surrounded by his family. Funeral services are 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 29th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a visitation will begin at 6:00 PM. Graveside services are 11:00 AM Thursday, June 30th at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to Disabled American Veterans.
Howie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alma, and children, Roxann, Donna and David; grandchildren DeRod and Rico Jordan, Braeden Mallory and Erynn Sly; one brother, George Sly. Proceeded in death by his parents, Howard George and Agnes Marie Sly.
Howie served our country in the Air Force for eight years. He was a mechanic of B-52 bombers. He retired after 29 years from TWA. He had a passion for woodworking, fishing and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with his family to Pomme De Terre Lake.
Howie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.
