

James Barrett Crowley, 91, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Villa Saint Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 29th, 12:00 p.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 West 143rd Street, Olathe, KS, with burial following in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., one hour prior to the mass. The Rosary will be prayed at 11:30 a.m.
James was born in Kansas City, Missouri, July 26, 1921. He was a graduate of Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst University. He worked in the Aerospace Industry at North American Rockwell and Boeing in Downey, California. He was highly involved in the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs before becoming head of public relations at North American Rockwell. James was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was very active in the Knights of Columbus.
James was preceded in death by his father and mother, Grover and Katherine Crowley and a brother, Frank J. Crowley. He is survived by his sister, Catherine Muller; a niece, Valerie (George) Shehata; two nephews, Jim (Janice) Muller and Tom (Kristen) Muller. Also surviving are six great nieces and nephews.
James was a man of great faith…his legacy to his family and his many friends at Villa Saint Joseph. He was dearly loved and will be missed.
