James “Jimmy” Clisaris Daskaleas, 59, of Kansas City, passed away on February 23, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his devoted family.
Jimmy was born on October 31, 1966, in Kansas City to Sophia Clisaris Daskaleas and Demosthenes Daskaleas. He was the third of their sons. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tammy Roemig; his parents; and his nephew, Demetri Daskaleas.
He is survived by his daughters, Demia, Savanna, and Randee; his cherished grandchildren, Evalynn, Dixon, and Sterling; his brothers, Nick (Linda) and George; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
His daughter Demia "Mia" was the most important part of his life over the past eighteen years. Mia was an unexpected blessing who expanded his heart in countless ways. There was no denying how proud he was to be her dad. Anyone who knew Jimmy knew that Mia lit up his entire world.
Known to many as “Jimmy D,” he loved nothing more than cooking for a house full of family and friends. His Greek heritage was deeply important to him, and he began learning to cook at a young age — a passion that grew into a successful and respected career. He had an entrepreneurial spirit, a clever mind, charismatic charm, and unwavering loyalty — and man, could he cook.
Jimmy worked for many years in the food and catering industry. He was especially known for creating incredible side dishes for Walker Food Distributors that were enjoyed throughout the Kansas City metro area. His motto, “Play with your food,” perfectly captured his creativity, joy, and love of bringing people together.
He was passionate about helping others find their path in life and was a devoted fan of comedy. His dry sense of humor could light up any room.
Rest in peace, our beautiful Jimmy. You will forever live on in the hearts of those who love you.
