James “Jim” M. Evans, 79, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away July 28, 2011 in Warsaw, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by memorial services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. Inurnment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Omega Hospice, 3171 NE Carnegie Drive, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64064. Jim was born June 15, 1932 in Sedalia, Missouri, son of Charley and Flo (Houk) Evans. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked as a cabinet maker. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Betty Anthony. Jim is survived by his wife Beverly (McNamara) Evans; daughter Marcia and husband John Terry; grandchildren Kristen Dreiling, Kelly Dougan and Dennis Meisberger; great-grandchildren Matthew, Jacob and Benjamin Dougan; sister Mary French; best friend and brother-in-law Boyd Cooper and wife Delores; and beloved dog Jingles.
