I met Mr. Kice in the neighborhood, here in Santa Fe Hills.  I am in the Army and he shared some of his WWII experience with me.  He was a Silver Star recipient, which is a bit of a big deal.  He served in Paupa New Guinea fighting a fierce fanatical Japanese force.  He shared with me the circumstances on his Silver Star.  Sometimes only a Soldier will share a story like that with another soldier.  I didn't know him very well - but grateful to hear his story from 70 years ago.  One of America's greatest generation, God bless and rest in peace.
