Janice was born 9/5/1936 in Kansas City, Missouri. She Graduated from Central Highschool in Kansas City, Missouri. She was employed by Southwestern Bell as an accountant back when it was referred to as Southwestern Bell. In 1973 is when she met and married Sam McDowell, they traveled around and saw the wonders of Europe. They were also big fisher and poker enthusiasts. She also had a green thumb with her flowers and had a keen eye for antique collecting, and she also quilted when she had free time.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marguerite and Orton Lawson, husband Sam McDowell, children Stephanie Morris and Steven Morris and stepson Sam Thomas McDowell
She is survived by sisters Shirley Austin and Susan Francis, nephews Phil Austin and Christopher and Michael Francis, Stepsons David, Paul, Mark McDowell, stepdaughter Jenice Webster, 15 Grandkids, 23 Great-grandkids
Funeral And Graveside services will be on 7/16 with Visitation being at 1:00 PM with a Funeral being 2:00 PM with Graveside to follow at 2:30 PM. Burial to take place at Floral Hills Funeral Home 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society.
