When I first moved into the neighborhood, Jerry was the first to welcome me. I could always count on him coming over to visit if I was outside, and often found him in his yard where he enjoyed spending hours at a time. As months and years passed, my own parents became ill and most of my time was spent away from home. I missed my chats with Jerry and often looked for him to spend a few minutes in his company. Those visits became fewer in the last couple of years. I was living at my fathers so much last fall that I wasn't aware of my dear friends passing until just before I lost my own father. The grief is overwhelming as I have not had strength of heart to express my sadness over Jerry's loss until now. I was blessed to have known him and his lovely bride Kay. My thoughts are with her and the family as I understand so deeply the myriad of emotions experienced during this season of life.

We got to know Jerry through our church and have many memories of him as a friend, mentor and spritual leader.  Most of the time we talked was punctuated with laughter and joy as he told stories old and new and took us on a journey to understand a little more of his life.  But he was also always interested in us.   When Jeff was made a deacon at church, Jerry was the elder that visited us at home and set up lunch meetings periodically to see how things were going.  He showed us by example how to lead and shepherd people who were lonely and hurting.   We send our love to Kay, Jennifer and Kristin.  Please know our hearts and prayers are with you!

My sister, Kathleen and I have many wonderful memories of growing up with Jennifer and Kristin and the years spent at the Zinn home.  Jerry and Kay oversaw many slumber parties as well as numerous other activities and they always showed immense patience and sense of fun when doing so!
Our thoughts are with the entire family during this time. 



So sorry to hear of Jerry's passing.  I worked in Customer Service at the Jones Store at Metcalf South, and Jerry sold me carpeting for my home.  He was such a friendly guy. I always enjoyed visiting with him at the Jones Store Lunch Bunch gatherings.  Rest in peace, Jerry.  My sincere condolences to his family. 

Jerry and I worked together at the Jones Store ,downtown and at Metcalf South.       
 He was a co-worker and also my friend. I will always remember his love of family and his ability  to close a sale.

I met Jerry years ago, when my wife, and I bought an Oriental Rug, from him. He made a big impression on me, due to his friendliness and salesmanship.
For a customer to remember the name of a salesman, that sold a rug to them, many years ago,  is a  testament  to Jerry.

Enjoyed working with Jerry for many years at the old Jones Store. We always worked together, till midnight, on the Moonlight Madness sales. My wife and I will miss him.

I first met Jerry at the Red Bridge Church Of Christ in 1980.  Jerry, Kay and their family  were very good friends of my wife Marta and her parents Jim and Jan Hayner.  I always will admire Jerry for his strong religious faith.  For that reason I asked Jerry if he would do the honors and Baptize me in 2011.  Jerry was as dedicated to his family as he was to the Lord.  We will miss him dearly and always remember him.  We look forward to reuniting with Jerry in Heaven.  

We had a wonderful time on our Alaskan cruise with Jerry and Kay. One of the highlights of the trip was a helicopter trip to a glacier.  We have a picture of all of us in our parkas all of us all smiles.  We appreciate Jerry for his faith and  wisdom. Praying for Kay. Jennifer, .Kristin and all the family. 

So sorry to hear of Jerry's  passing. Have known his family for very many years and share fond memories of Jennifer's parties in their home.  The Zinns were an important part of our church family at Brush Creek and later Red Bridge, church of Christ. Jerry will be missed and my prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
