He was born March 22, 1957 in Sacramento, California to Sylvia Gerald and Nina Burl (Mann) Mott. Jerry dedicated more than 47 years to the aviation industry, where he influenced the lives of many pilots and airport employees through his expertise, mentorship, and dedication. His commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with him.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Wendy Mott; his children, Clarissa (Thomas) Wicker, and Jill (Garret) Whiteman; his 3 grandchildren, Owen and Camden Whiteman, and Tylan Wicker; his sister Wanda (Don) Townley; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
A visitation and memorial service will be held on May 29, 2026 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas, MO 64133.
The visitation will begin at 6:00 pm with memorial service to follow at 6:30 pm.
Those unable to attend the visitation beforehand are encouraged to stay and visit with the family following the service.
