Jimmie R. Rice, 82, Kansas City, Missouri passed away May 11, 2017. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Jimmie was born March 9, 1935 in Braymer, Missouri. He had worked as a pressman for BMA for 35 years. He owned J & M. Printing Company. Jimmie was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and a NASCAR fan.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Rice and granddaughter Shannon Marquez. Jimmie is survived by his wife Billie Rice, children Helen Rice, Sheryl Heflin, Jimmie “Jimbo” Rice Jr., Donna Cheryl Jones, Rick Griggs (Kay), Karen Moses (Mike), 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. Pallbearers: Rick Griggs, Robert Kuhns, Shane Taylor, Jimmie Rice, Jr., Mike Moses, Adam Moses, Robbie Jones and Rich Jones.
