

Jimmy Tinoco, 51, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017 at KU Medical Center surrounded by his family. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 7 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart-Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2544 Madison, Kansas City, MO where there will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Jimmy was born October 4, 1965 in Kansas City to Joseph (Gabe) and Marina (Vaca) Tinoco. He was a graduate of Westport High School. Jimmy’s past employment included The Kansas City Club and Swift & Company. Jimmy started his employment with the Missouri Department of Corrections on October 14, 2008 as a Corrections Officer I at Jefferson City Correctional Center. On December 4, 2011 he transferred to Kansas City Community Release Center as a Probation and Parole Assistant until September 1, 2015 when the Release Center transitioned into the Kansas City Reentry Center and Jimmy went back to being a Correctional Officer I at that time and remained in that position until his passing.
Jimmy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed all sports and was a diehard Oakland Raiders fan. He was a proud member of the Raider Nation Club.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his dad and his best friend and companion, his dog Rocco. He is survived by his mother, Marina Vaca Tinoco; his daughter, Jennifer May Gonzalez; step daughter, Ashley Norment; siblings Anthony (Roseanna) Tinoco, Overland Park, KS, Teresa (Robert) Valdivia, San Antonio, TX, Jeanette (Miguel) Hernandez, Gabriel (Julie) Tinoco, Philip Tinoco, and Edward (Felicia) Tinoco, all of Kansas City, MO; and many nephews, nieces, countless relatives and friends.
