Jo (Jody) was a dynamic, creative, outgoing lady who accomplished so much in her 74 years. She had many friends and business associates and kept an active social life.
A memorial service will be held in Jo’s honor on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with a
visitation starting at 10:00 AM, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas
City, MO 64119.
Jo was born in Maryville, MO to Eva Millward on October 6, 1946. She attended Maryville High
School and graduated in 1964. Next, Jo studied at Northwest Missouri State University, the local
university. Jo graduated in 1968 with a Bachelors in Education. While in college, Jo married Neal
Moles. Their first child, Andrea, was born August 23, 1967. On August 7, 1970, Jo had her second child, Adrienne.
She met Joseph Coleman in 1976 and were married shortly after on April 6, 1977 in Pleasant Hill,
Missouri. Together, Joe and Jo shared many great years full of love, family, memories and
travels. Joe was by her side in life and in passing.
Jo was involved in numerous organizations throughout her life, including Jaycees, Kansas City
Advertising Club and Missouri Business Women, where she was their State Executive Administrator.
Jo was preceded in death by her mother, Eva (Mildward) Wagner, step-son, Byron Coleman,
niece, Paula Beason, brothers-in-law, Tom Christain and Fred Poppa, great niece, Elizabeth
Poppa, as well as other relatives, friends and acquaintances.
She leaves behind her husband of 43 wonderful years, Joseph; daughters, Andrea Moles,
Adrienne (Craig) Morfeld and step-daughter LaRae Coleman. She was also survived by her three
sisters, Betty Beason, Ruth Christian and Rita Poppa, as well as her nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren include Justin Wyrick, Mallory & Blake Pinson and Chance Dawes.
Memorials may be given to any cancer organizations of your choice in Jo’s honor. The areas of
research including metastatic breast cancer and colon cancer would be of special interest to Jo.
