He was born on September 27, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri to Josephina (Rocha) & Gregorio Tinoco, the youngest of five children. He was honorably discharged after serving in the Army from 1956 to 1958. However, it was his time working at the Kansas City Club, with brothers John, Gabe, and Albert he treasured most.
He married Paula Vaca on February 26, 1960, and was looking forward to celebrating his 65th year of marriage this year. He loved his wife deeply and was adamant to spend his final days at home with her. They remained inseparable until his final breath.
Together they raised three children: Louis, Yolanda, and Mark.
Their home was a welcoming place for family barbeques, birthday parties, and competitive games of poker, dominos and Uno. He would most memorably spend his time telling stories, watching WWE, listening to music, and solving puzzles.
A lifelong resident of the Westside, he would be seen score keeping summer softball leagues, running errands for his wife, and sitting in his backyard with his dog (Jack Daniel).
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his daughter Yolanda Cervantes and son Steven Tinoco; brothers John Tinoco, Gabriel, and Albert; and sister Carmen Soltero.
Joe is survived by his son Louis (Rita) Tinoco; son Mark (Lisa) Tinoco; and son-in-law Jesus Cervantes; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his favorite and go to nurse, Constance Tinoco. As well as the wonderful nurses and staff that cared for him at St. Luke's Hospital.
