
Mr. Joe Keith Webb, 74, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Mr. Webb was born on a farm near Warsaw in Benton County, Missouri, the son of Raymond E. and Jeanette (Starbuck) Webb. He graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1955 and then attended the University of Missouri on a four year track and field scholarship. Mr. Webb held the world indoor pole vaulting record in 1957 and in 1959 placed 4th in the NCAA Championship. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Mr. Webb was married to Nancy Herr in Kansas City, Missouri on August 31, 1957. Mr. Webb began his employment with Phillips Petroleum Company in 1959, and worked for them in various cities during a 40-year career in marketing until his retirement in 1999. The Webb family came to Bartlesville to establish their home in April of 1977. Mr. Webb was an Eagle Scout and had received the “God & Country Award” from the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Adams Golf Club and the USGA. Mr. Webb served on the Board of Directors of the Phoenix Club and worshipped at the First Wesleyan Church. Mr. Webb is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Webb of the home; three daughters Melinda Hail and her husband G.W. of Dallas, Texas, Polly Tyler and her husband Kent of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Katy Stockard and her husband Greg of Frisco, Texas; and six grandchildren Alexander, Tyler, and Samuel Webb Stockard, Joe Tyler, Drake Stockard, Sally Stockard and Lucy Hail.
