So sorry to hear of John's passing.  We shared Whalers tickets way back when.

I got a chance to sit down and talk to your dad at your beautiful wedding, Cara.  I am so glad he was there to see how beautiful you looked, and how happy and in love you are.  He was so proud. I am so sorry he is gone now.  I wish you and your family nothing but strength through these next few days.

Leadership, fairness, compassion and friendship are just a few of the traits I remember about John back at Maur Hill. He had a way of reaching out to others and being there when needed.  Gone too soon, he'll be missed by many.  It was a privilege to have known him.  May God bless him and his family.

John was one of the smartest people I've ever known. His mind could go way above mine in so many ways yet he could relate to me and the rest of his classmates at Maur Hill with ease. We played football together, partied together, talked together, and just enjoyed life together. The last time I saw him was at our 40th high school class reunion and really enjoyed seeing him and catching up on old times. He was a good person and a good friend. Ravens are still flying high John!

As a former classmate I want you to know that my heart breaks for you and your children during this difficult time.  We don't often reach out as we should until something like this happens, but I wanted you to know I am praying for all of you.

I was very saddened to learn of John's passing. John was my first boss when I started working at the Aetna back in January 1988. John taught me a great deal about the health insurance business. In all my years, I don't believe that I've met anyone who could foresee the implications of events as well as John. He may have been the most intelligent man that I've ever known. But what I remember best about John were our long discussions about baseball. How he loved baseball, and I was in awe of his ability to recall stats and details about the game. When John left the Aetna, I joked that perhaps our next meeting would be on the baseball field as the opposing managers. I hope that John was able to enjoy the accomplishments of the Royals over the past few years, and took pleasure in seeing them win the World Series once again in his final days. I have missed him, and offer my sincere condolences to his family.
