

Jack was born June 1, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska. After moving to Denver in 1940, he decided to serve his country in the US Navy and was assigned to the Seabees in 1946.
Jack began his business career in the cattle industry in the stockyards of Denver in 1948. He married the love of his life, Carol Lee, June 22, 1951. Jack's career lead them to Garden City, Kansas in 1958, where he became a well-respected and successful cattleman. Jack was truly an entrepreneur in the cattle business as co-founder of Western Cattle Company and co-owner of several feed yards. He finished his career in 1989, when he sold Beefland, a state-of-the-art feed yard.
Jack was an avid fisherman and enjoyed participating in the atmosphere of Arrowhead Stadium.
Upon retirement, Jack and Carol Lee lived in Bonita Springs, Florida and later Fort Collins, Colorado. In 2005, they moved to Leawood, Kansas to be near family and granddaughters.
Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol Lee; his son, Mark, and wife Patty; three granddaughters, Kristen Lewis (Joshua); Courtney Hill (Brandon), and Tricia Daly.
The family would like to thank their dear friends at Claridge Court Health Center for the wonderful care and support throughout the past two and a half years.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 pm, Monday, January 21, 2013 at the McGilley State Line Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 22 in the Wesley Chapel, at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe, Leawood, KS. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery South. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, 6800 West 93rd St. Overland Park, KS 66212.
