John Henry Nyquist Jr. January 11, 1947 – December 26, 2022, Kansas City, Missouri – John was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and loyal friend who will be missed by all that knew him. His grumpiness was exceeded only by the size of his soft heart and devotion to family and friends.
He spent most of his life working in Drafting and owned his own company for years. He finished his working career at Walmart where he loved to work in the gardening section.
One of his greatest joys in life was coaching baseball for 25 plus years at various leagues throughout the Kansas City area. He taught so many kids the game of baseball and took great pride in that. He also enjoyed watching his grandkids/great grandkids play sports from their toddler days thru high school.
John was born on January 11, 1947, to John and Ann (Shelton) Nyquist. He is survived by his longtime girlfriend of 30 years Dianne Schneider, brothers Jerry and Steve , son’s John, and wife Leigh Ann, Eric, and wife Cindy, 10 grandkids and 11 great grandkids.
A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home (7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133). The memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM.
