He was born in Kansas City, MO, March 8, 1925, son of Eugene & Gladys Starkey. He served in the U.S. Navy on a submarine (1941-1944). John was a lifetime member of VFW & American Legion. He received his MA from CSMU. He was employed at Bendix in Kansas City. After retirement John taught at Longview, Maple Woods & Warrensburg. He was a member of the Belton Christian Church. He is survived by his wife Chloe Starkey of the home and many friends.
