Judith Ann (Lewis) Patton, 91, our beloved mother, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at American House Burlington Creek with her family by her side. Born on November 12, 1934, in New Castle, New South Wales, Australia as the third daughter to George and Edith (Woods) Lewis. Known as Judy to her family and friends, she graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO in 1953, and attended Graceland College in Lamoni, IA from 1953-1955, earning a General Education degree. She began teaching Kindergarten at the Courtney School in Independence, MO in 1956. In 1958, she attended Central Missouri State College and received her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1959. Judy went back to teaching at the Courtney School and taught first grade from 1960-1963. Her adventurous spirit had her traveling around Australia and Hawaii from 1964-1966. She resumed teaching third and fourth grades at the Courtney School from 1966-1968.
Judy met Phillip D. Patton at a church picnic and married him on October 5, 1968, in Independence, MO. Phil and Judy began their married life in Liberty, MO and then moved to Broken Arrow, OK, in 1972 and finally settled in Tulsa, OK in 1974. There they raised a son and a daughter and a variety of fur babies. In 1989, Phil and Judy were joyfully able to relocate back to the church gathering place in Independence, MO. They were active members of both the Buckner Restoration Branch and Missionary Restoration Branch. Judy used her gift of teaching and working with children to serve as a dedicated Sunday School teacher.
As a devoted mother to Jonathan and Carol, Judy shared her artistic talents with their school projects, her love of nature and books, a dry sense of humor, and her devotion to the Lord. She was the family undefeated Chinese Checkers champion and could always figure out the clue on Wheel of Fortune before anyone else!

Lewis Jr. She is survived by her son Jonathan D. Patton and wife Bridget; daughter Carol A.
