Judy Cox Tharp, 76, Wichita Falls, TX passed away August 2, 2015. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Judy was born April 15, 1939 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of Bud and Lucile Carter. She married Joe A. Cox in 1958, four children were born to this union Nancie Gilbreth (Rick), Cyndi Shults (Randy), David Cox (Gail), and Ron Cox (Glenna). They were avid trapshooters and hunters; enjoying duck hunting at Squall Creek Refuge in Napier, MO. Many hours were spent with her sons. She married Robert A. Tharp after Joe passed away.
She left Kansas City to be with her daughter Cyndi in Wichita Falls, while she was going through radiation treatments. Family and friends were most important to Judy. She will be remembered as a caring individual.
Judy was preceded in death by husbands Joe A. Cox and Robert A. Tharp. She is survived by her four children, twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren (with one on the way). She is also survived by her good friends Beulah Weter and Alice Fetters.
