Judy Dean Vineyard Smith

Judy Dean Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, age 84, joined her loved ones in heaven on June 9, 2012. She departed surrounded by her loving family at home. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, June 11, 2012, Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Holmeswood Baptist Church, 9700 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131. Judy was born in Grain Valley, Missouri on May 19, 1928. She married Merle J. Smith January 24, 1948. She is survived by her husband, Merle J. Smith, married 64 years: her children, Kathy Painter and husband John of Lee's Summit, Missouri; son Larry Smith of New York, New York; granddaughters Amber Keith; Leann Weller and husband Rodger; two great grandsons, Oliver and Garrison. Judy was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Kyleigh Elizabeth. Judy graduated from Paseo High School in 1946 and attended the University of Kansas City. She was employed by the Internal Revenue Service for fifteen years and the Department of Agriculture for ten years. Judy's husband, children and grandchildren were her first priority. She was a member of the Holmeswood Baptist Church for 34 years. She strived to be the very best she could and will be missed by family and friends.
