

Kathleen I. Harris, 103, of Raytown, MO, formerly of Mayfield, KY, passed into Heaven Thursday, July 1, 2021, at TMC Lakewood Care Center. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 6th at 1 p.m at Floral Hills Memorial Garden. Friends may gather in the Garden of Atonement for the service.
Kathleen was born May 5, 1918, in Farmington, KY on the family farm to Jesse and Mae(Pullen) Harris. She went to the Farmington School. She, her two sisters (Irene and Jessie Mae) and Jessie Mae’s husband, RB Wallace, went to Detroit to work in a defense plant during World War ll. She worked on super charger motors for B-29 planes. After the war, they returned to Mayfield. She worked for the Merit Clothing Company until she retired. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Mayfield.
Kathleen moved to Raytown, MO to live with Jessie Mae after the death of RB in 1996. The sisters enjoyed living with each other and spent time walking with friends, exercise classes, water aerobics and many activities at First Baptist Church in Raytown. She continued walking until the last few months of her life. Kathleen was the oldest member of Connection Point Church (formerly First Baptist) and was proud of her age.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Irene Denyer and Jessie Mae Wallace, brother-in-law, RB Wallace, great niece, Michelle Huffman and nephew-in-law, Jerry Huffman who loved to talk UK Wildcats basketball with her after every game.
Survivors include her niece, Anita Wallace Huffman, nephew, Mike Wallace(Angela), great nieces, Melissa Huffman Walker, Danielle Heater, Joanna Smithie, Jennifer Wright, 3 great great nieces, Paige and Lindsey Walker and Abigail Wright and 6 great nephews, Dominic, Zachary and Quinten Heater, Gavin and Ben Torres and Evan Wright.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to TMC Lakewood Care Center or Wayside Waifs.
