Kenneth C. Dedrick, 88, of Sun City, Arizona passed away on October 28, 2019. Visitation is Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 1:00pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home with a graveside service at 1:30pm at Floral Hills Cemetery 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Mary Lou Dedrick of 68 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Patrick Dedrick and Florence Katherine (Rippley) Dedrick; Sisters, Mildred Palmer and Marjorie Budy.
Kenneth was born in Booneville, Missouri on June 9, 1931 at home on the Santa Fe Trail. He attended grade school, junior high and the first two years of high school in Booneville, Missouri. The last two years of high school were at KCCBS in Overland Park, Kansas graduating in 1949. Kenneth worked with his grandfather at the Booneville City Water Department, then one year at Bobin Shoe Company.
On December 11, 1950 Kenneth married the love of his life Mary Lou Bowman. Shortly after he joined the Air Force with his friend Don Leathers during the Korean War. He attended Police School in Florida and was sent to Korea as an Air Police, in 1952. In 1953 he returned to Louisiana AFB until discharged as a S/sgt in September 1954.
Kenneth had various jobs that included home construction, National Cash Register, Western Electric in Kansas City, Storage Tech in Denver and owned a hardware store in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1991 Kenneth known as Ken retired with his Wife Mary Lou in Sun City, Arizona.
Kenneth had many hobbies that included: rebuilding classic cars, being an small aircraft pilot, wood carving, radio controlled airplanes... He was very skilled at everything he did.
