Kenneth A. Monnig

Kenneth A. Monnig, 90, passed away June 28, 2016, in his home in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was born March 17, 1926 in Aholt, Missouri to Sophie and Richard Monnig. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1946. He married Ora Mae Lyons, from Glagow, Missouri on February 7, 1948.

Ken was a devoted father of five. He supported his family as a tool and dye worker for Pittman Manufacturing. Family was always a priority for him. He lived with a great sense of humor, and you always had a smile on your face when you walked away from him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elmer and Donald Monnig; and sisters, Etheda Strodtman and Vivian Lang.

Survivors include his wife, Ora Mae Monnig, of Blue Springs, Missouri; children, Sherry and Mike Deal, of Raymore, Missouri; Glenda and Ed Schmidt, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Randy and Ann Monnig, of Belton, Missouri; Donna and John Moore, of Marceline, Missouri; Keith and Becky Monnig, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Denis and Joan Monnig, of Gladstone, Missouri; grandchildren, Tammy Novak; Karie LaBelle; Kristin Shimel; Allen Schmidt; Tommy John Monnig; Timothy Monnig; Cassie Mora; Joshua Moore; Alyssa Moore; Jasmine Monnig; ten great grandchildren and 21 nieces and nephews.
