

Kenneth Robert Diebold, 66 of Grandview, MO, passed away on Jan. 31, 2024 in his Kinbrook apartment. He was born on May 8, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, MO. He attended Marshall State School & Hospital and Higginsville State School & Hospital. He worked at Foundation Workshop and retired from Job One. After retirement Kenny was a member of the Missouri MENTORS day program. Kenny drove a trike as a youth and earned many medals as a Special Olympics athlete. He liked bumper cars, roller coasters, deviled eggs, cheeseburgers, KC Royals baseball, music and singing. With his calendar of phone numbers and birthdates, Kenny kept in contact with his favorite people. Kenny was a parishioner of Sacred Heart, St. Bernadette, Guardian Angels, Coronation of Our Lady, and St. Mark Parishes.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mary (Cisper) Diebold; brothers, Eugene and Ronald Diebold; sisters, Judith Diebold (infant) and Juanita Wright. He is survived by his brothers, Richard of Palm Harbor, FL, Thomas and wife, Patti, of Olathe, KS, Stephen and wife Debra of Blue Springs, MO, and Frank of Killeen, TX; sisters, JoAnn Hawthorne of Deepwater, MO, Delores Harding and husband, Dean, of Independence, MO, Mary Cockrell and husband, Steve, of Kansas City, MO, Kathy Ross and husband, John, of Independence, MO; Miss Connie, the staff and the residents of Kinbrook; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. with Rosary at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Rd. Independence, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb 9 at the church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
