Larry retired with over 55 years in the grocery business, providing operations and management for several Kansas City-based grocery store chains. He married Sandra Johnston in 1961, and they had two children, Larry Adams, Jr. and Lori Chapman.
He was a lifelong National Rifle Association Golden Eagle member and was awarded the “Outstanding Leadership Award,” of which less than one percent are awarded. He served as the president of the Gladstone Rotary Club and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. Larry enjoyed spending time at the lake, leatherworking, trap shooting, and collecting antiques. He also cherished spending time with his family, great-grandchildren, and his dogs, Mr. Brick and Charlee Rose.
Larry is survived by spouse, Sandra Adams; Children, Larry Adams, Jr., and Lori Chapman (Tony Chapman); Grandchildren: Christopher Cooper (Heidy Robertson-Cooper); Corbin Rudd (Anthony Rudd); Tara Shores; Ryan Chapman (Tessa Chapman), Zac Cooper (Beth Cooper); Great-grandchildren: Payton Rudd, Kennedy Rudd; Huxley Robertson-Cooper; Skylar Rudd; Aubryn Shores; Nora Chapman and Lena Chapman.
