She attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse with many friends and cousins. Though raised during the depression, she never knew need and enjoyed homemade dresses every year. She was considered a princess or queen all of her life and enjoyed being spoiled by many.
In 1948 she graduated from Marceline High and married her sweetheart “Jackie” Ralston on May 30, 1948. Their marriage lasted nearly 69 years with most spent in a Cape Cod style home they purchased in 1955. Only two Christmases have not been spent with their family in that home due to illness. They loved the adventure of traveling the United States including Alaska and Hawaii.
Lavita was passionately devoted to the families of her two sons, Dennis and Greg. She loved their spouses, her five granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. She and “Boppy” loved spending individual time with each granddaughter.
Over the years she enjoyed square dancing, beating others at cards, lunching with girlfriends, gathering with lifelong friends from the Sojourners Sunday School class and shopping for clothes and shoes. She will be missed by all.
