L.C. was born at home in Tyler, Texas, the youngest of five children to Lindsey Clore and Elizabeth Joy Honeycutt. He spent his early years in Tyler before his family moved to the small town of Herington, Kansas, where he grew up. From a young age, L.C. developed a keen interest in the stock market—investing any money he earned and nurturing that passion throughout his entire life.
At 18, L.C. was drafted into the U.S. Army and spent two years stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he attended cosmetology school and became a hairdresser. One of his clients, Louise James, introduced him to her daughter, Glenda Jean James, who became the love of his life. L.C. and Glenda were married on July 15, 1967, and shared 57 wonderful years together filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They especially enjoyed their trips to Las Vegas, where L.C. loved playing craps.
L.C. spent some time working in the oil fields, learning the trade from his family, and later he and Glenda owned oil wells together. He also opened his own beauty salon, eventually moving the business into their home, where he continued to serve his loyal clients for many years.
L.C. and Glenda were blessed with two daughters, Jacque and Jennifer, who were the center of his world. He was a devoted, supportive, and loving father—always encouraging his daughters in everything they did, no matter how big or small.
Outside of his family and work, L.C. enjoyed golf, bowling, and gardening. He took great pride in his beautifully landscaped yards and especially loved growing and selling tomatoes.
L.C. was preceded in death by his wife Glenda Honeycutt, his parents; siblings A.J. Honeycutt, Billy Joe Honeycutt, Gene Honeycutt, and Rose Adams; and his beloved daughter, Jacque Reynolds. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Waters and sons-in-law Dustin Waters and Brett Reynolds, along with his cherished grandsons Jacob Allen, Jackson Allen, Dawson Reynolds, and Logan Reynolds.
L.C. will be remembered for his caring and loving heart, his gentle spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
