Lena was an affectionate, dedicated and hardworking woman who always put the needs of others ahead of her own.
From Richland,MO Lena grew up hard but had a passion for greater things to come. She met her husband Robert L Mayes in high school.They were married 65 wonderful years and in this union they were blessed with two children Debra Sue, Sandra and a God child Ronald Wagner.
In 1992 Lena received her General Educational Development or better known as a GED. After receiving her GED she was still eager to have more education under her belt. She attended Longview College where she received her Associate Degree then she went on to obtain her Medical Assistant Degree.
Lena loved making people happy and cared for. Her most beloved career was her being a clown known as Thumbelina. This is where Lena was able to put smiles on the faces of young and old alike.
Lena ( Thumbelina) was loved by many family members and friends.
A memorial service for Lena will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 BLUE RIDGE BLVD, KANSAS CITY, MO 64133, followed by a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
