A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, March 30 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.
Leon was born on March 19, 1935 in Keokuk, IA to Leonard & Delores Carpenter. He worked for 40 years at Cartwright Companies. He was an avid Chief’s fan and season ticket holder for nearly 50 years. Upon retirement, Leon spent his days enjoying family, particularly his granddaughters. By always treating others with respect, while never passing judgement, he leaves a legacy of positively impacting all who ever knew him.
Leon was preceded in death by his spouse Lillian Carpenter, his parents and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife Alice Carpenter, sister Louise (Harold) Harris, son Gene (Chris) Carpenter, daughter Lené Carpenter, granddaughters, Kara, Baylee, Mackenzie, Kelsie & Abby, great-grandchildren, Colton and Lily-Anne, and many other nieces & nephews.
In addition he opened his heart to Alice’s daughter, granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
