Leonard J. Nicholson, 76, Overland Park, KS, passed away February 7, 2017. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Heart of America Chapter, 3846 W. 75th St., Prairie Village, KS 66208
Lennie was born October 30, 1940 in Kansas City, MO, son of Leonard C. and Minnie Marie (Wass) Nicholson. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired after 25 years with GM Leeds. Mr. Nicholson loved traveling, camping and collecting model cars. He was a Royals and Chiefs fan, enjoyed yardwork and being with his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Lennie is survived by his wife Pat (Sutton) Nicholson, daughters Christine Abbott-Irwin (John) and Debbie Nicholson, grandchildren Alex Abbott and Kayla Nicholson, great-grandson Atticus Abbott, extended family and friends.
