LINDA LOUISE HUSE
Linda Louise Huse went to dance in heaven with her beloved husband on 28 July 2024. Her loss is completely unexpected, and her family is profoundly saddened.
Linda Louise Huse was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri to Harold and Dolores Irving on 25 July 1945. After graduating from Shawnee Mission East High School, she went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) practicing at Kansas City General Hospital eventually also earning her Registered Nurse (RN) degree. She then kept working while attending school to become a nurse anesthetist; she was a nurse anesthetist for several years including a few in Saudi Arabia.
Linda retired after she married her beloved husband, William “Bill” Jason Huse II. Bill and Linda were quite adventurous, and together they accomplished visiting all 7 continents together, even visiting some countries and continents multiple times. A master gardener, Linda was an active member of the Kansas City Garden Club for decades. Linda’s green-thumb helped her cultivate a variety of rare and exotic flowers including her favorite roses and orchids.
She was a private but very witty and fun person! Linda was independent, yet sensitive and incredibly compassionate. She loved traveling, gardening, her garden club, British shows, dinner theatre, cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, ice cream with Baileys, Monopoly, and her family. During their travels, Bill and Linda began collecting Charles Dickens porcelain miniature village scenes. Their collection became so extensive, they eventually added a room to their home. Affectionately known as “The Dickens Room,” this room showcased the delicate and intricate village scenes complete with lights, snow, a train, and a hot air balloon. Linda was strong-willed and stubborn, but those traits defined her. They were fundamentally part of her spirit and character, and her strength undoubtedly helped her cope with life’s challenges, especially after the sudden passing of her cherished Bill.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sister Susan, and her brother Michael Ray. She is survived by three children shared with Bill: Carolyne Johnson, Shawn Huse, and Jason Huse. She is also survived by seven granddaughters: Sarah, Kadie, Aimee, Emily, Peighton, Natalie, Rebecca, and great-grandchildren.
Linda loved fiercely, and she is now sailing on a journey to shores that we cannot see. We know that she is free from pain and is floating peacefully with her beloved husband on the QEII toward the famous Keukenhof Gardens. A world-famous garden with over 7 million tulips in the Netherlands that Bill always opined heaven to look like heaven to look like.
A Memorial Service for Linda & Bill will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
