

Linda Ann Morgan Mathes, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born on April 2, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas. Linda lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Linda was known for her warm heart, gentle spirit, love of plants, sweets and an occasional bargain. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, whether it was sharing stories around the table, celebrating holidays or simply enjoying the beauty of everyday life. Her laughter and compassion touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her siblings: James Petty, Michelle Van Meter, Mary Butler, and Karen Wright; her son, Michael P. Toolen Jr (Jamie); her grandsons, Michael P. Toolen III (Emily) and Mitchell Toolen; and her great grandchildren, Michael Toolen IV, Katy Jo Toolen, Liam Toolen and Cora Toolen; her son, Terry J. Toolen; her grandsons, Andrew Toolen and Patrick James Toolen; and her great grandchild, Oliver Toolen; her son, Timothy Toolen (Patricia); her grandchildren, Nicole Day, Gabriel Toolen and Jordan Toolen; and her great grandchildren, Archer Day and Eleanor Day; her daughter, Wendy Miller; her grandchildren, Justus Miller, Brett Miller, Darryian Miller, Christian Miller, Eyan Miller, Krystie Miller; and great grandchildren, Travis Miller, Rayleigh Miller, and Connor Miller; and her daughter, Misty R. Morgan; her grandchildren, Alaxander Morgan, Zachary Stewart, and Cheyla Mathes; and her great grandchildren, Hannah Bobo and Justin Mathes who will forever hold her memory close.
Linda was preceded in death by husband, John Mathes; her parents, Bernard and Marguerite Petty; and her son-in-law, Sean Miller.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 2-4pm at the McGilley State Line Chapel, where family and friends will gather to honor her legacy.
